October 1 – Reproductive Justice: “Protecting Our Rights. Restoring Our Dignity.”

Jenny Byer, Organizer for the MI UU Social Justice Network, will discuss their fall campaigns for reproductive justice, aiming to restore the inherent worth and dignity of every person to start or not start a family—however one defines family—and to have the resources to provide for that family.

October 8 – Greed and Its Affects on Our Personal, Religious and Economic Lives

We’ll explore the personal, religious, familial, social and economic affects of Greed – as a part of evolutionary development; cultural differences; and both negative and positive results in all social strata. Our speaker shares experiences in multi-national corporations, local, state and national government, and religious studies. Next Sunday we’ll discuss the topic in depth. (Roger S)

Roger will lead a Snack and Discussion service on the topic of greed and how it affects us personally, economically, and religiously.  This is a follow-up to our October 8 service on the same topic. (Roger S)

October 28 – Saturday Fall Apple Trip – 1 pm

November 5 – Dia de los Muertos

Join us for our annual Day of the Dead celebration, and please bring mementos of your dearly departed as we celebrate their lives in our Dia De Los Muertos service.

November 12 – A Unitarian Connection to South Carolina’s Gullah Culture

We’ll explore the legacy of Unitarian Laura Towne (1825-1901), teacher to freed slaves, and the Gullah culture that developed on South Carolina’s Sea Islands. 

November 19 – Thanksgiving Soup Communion – We’ll cook and eat soup during the service.

As we share together – a soup of tomatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes, kale, leeks, lentils combined and warmed in a communal pot – we grow together.
