As a small congregation coming from long distances to worship together on Sunday we have found various ways to enter the struggle for Justice for All in our lives.

Each Sunday’s collection includes the opportunity to contribute to our greater community.  This contribution is matched with congregational funds.  From member nominations, the board selects an organization in our greater community to receive these funds.

For each quarter of the year a community organization is selected.  If it is a local organization we ask that a representative attend a worship service and familiarize the congregation with their work.  We ask the congregant who nominated the organization to do the same.

We have supported such local efforts as a Community Farming Association’s effort to make fresh produce available for families that would not otherwise have access.  We are members and support the Michigan Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Network.  Internationally we have supported the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee tire farming project in Haiti as well as the annual Guest at Your Table.

Our congregation also currently supports a number of ongoing service projects.

If you would like to nominate an organization for funding consideration, please contact a board member.
